a bun in the oven

I had the priviledge of co-hosting a baby shower for my dear friend Jennie this morning. She is expecting her first baby in July and it was so fun to celebrate with her...the excitement and joy beams from her face!

The cake pops were a hit and I gave her the dress I made with my friend Emily, while vacationing in Denmark. She'll have to wait to wear it from a year from now...but it will look cute hanging in the closet.

It's weird to be moving away from the bridal showers and into the baby showers...a natural progression :)

Creative ways...

Spring is trying to break through the cold and clouds here in the NW. I took my bike in yesterday for a tune-up, hoping with a little TLC it will be ready for my daily commute. I'm challenging myself to ride my bike as much as possible in the month of May. The motivation...I think it's National Ride you Bike to Work Month??? it'll whip me into shape and with gas prices creeping towards $4/gal, I really have nothing to lose!

Tonight, I'm baking cakes to make cake-pops for a friend's baby shower on Saturday...feeling oh so trendy! The sewing machine made an appearance this last week as well. I picked up a Moda Charm pack - Central Park that I am really excited to work with. The fabric is cut and I'm in the process of piecing together the squares.
